Haiti Missions trip!

I'm going to Haiti!
As I sit in the Chicago airport realizing that I soon will be in Haiti, it brings many thoughts and feeling. However, the bottom line is that I’m going to give of myself to the poor and needy of that part of the world. I’m quite positive I will indeed see the need, but I desire more than that! You see, I’m prayerfully going to represent Christ to these people and be His hands extended.
As with any missions trip there are risks at stake, but with God’s help and guidance I will join with other lead pastors to see the forces of darkness defeated. I realize as I sit on the brink of this exciting missions adventure; that often times, I (and possibly you also) settle for the numbing routine of the average Christian life. Don’t get me wrong, living for Christ will never be “average”. It’s just that I desire to step out into the “only God can do this” kind of living.
Like my missions trip to Africa a few years back, this trip will take me beyond seeing and smelling the needs of Haiti to tangibly touching people with the extended hand of Jesus through compassions and evangelism. It’s been said, “Whenever you engage with God’s heart in action ….. you end up being changed yourself”. Mission’s trips cause you to pray differently, think differently and act differently. Why? ..... because you move past an American comfort zone to seeing the real world just as the Father sees it.
I ask for your prayers on this short trip and can’t wait to get back and share this coming Sunday!
