Royal Rangers and Mpact Girls Clubs

Dear Families of Crosswalk,

We are about to launch a couple of ministries that will possibly be two of the most important things this church body ever does...Royal Rangers and Mpact Girls Clubs. Royal Rangers is ministry is specifically designed for strong Christian men to mentor the up coming generations of boys on what it means to be a man in every area of their life. Mpact Girls Clubs is about intentional outreach and Christian discipleship to teach girls biblical truths that will help them to make God-pleasing decisions. Gender specific ministry is crucial for developing girls into women of God. Likewise with Royal Rangers for the boys, Mpact Girls Clubs is designed for mentoring from strong Christian women who will invest into these girls through Bible study and activities that will allow them to grow in their faith.

Allow me to share some information I recently read:

Boys today are under assault. Ongoing cultural changes and the powerful influence of a secular media have created and environment where the path to manhood is no longer clear, and many boys are losing their way. Dr. James Dobson, nationally-acclaimed family counselor, author, and founder of the Focus on the Family radio program, warns "Now, more than ever, boys are experiencing a crisis of confidence that reaches deep within their soul" (Bringing Up Boys, p. 35)

As compared to girls, boys are:

  • Six times more likely to have learning disabilities
  • Three times more likely to be registered drug addicts
  • Four times more likely to be diagnosed as emotionally disturbed
  • Twelve times more likely to commit murder
  • Five times more likely to commit suicide         -Dr. James Dobson

In order for Crosswalk so see the launch of Royal Rangers and Mpact Girls Clubs, I’m asking for you to consider being part of these exciting ministry opportunities. As the Children's minister here at Crosswalk, I strongly feel like these two ministries will be vital to our church. Not only will you get the opportunity to speak into the lives of our young men and girls, but you will also teach them through hands on activities. If you are interested in getting involved please email me at afton.johnson@crosswalkcc.com. Thank you so much for your time and I pray that you take the time to consider this mission!

God Bless,
Afton Johnson
