The Most Important 10 Minutes Of Your Day

The school year has begun and I want to encourage all of our young parents to “get back” to having family devotions.  You have such an opportunity and responsibility to begin the day centered around prayer and scripture with your family.  I’m not suggesting “preaching a sermon” because oftentimes everyone is so tired you may wonder if what is shared is even heard!  Your prayer at family devotions may not lead to “revival”, but it puts everyone into the position of asking for God’s strength, wisdom and protection for the day!  To say it bluntly, this 10 minutes of family devotions at the beginning of your day is the most important 10 minutes of the day!

It’s about having time with your family.  It’s about modeling devotions.  It’s about having a few moments to speak prophetic words into their lives.

I’ve got to be honest, I’ve failed at family devotions many times during the years of raising our kids more than succeeding.  However, I realize what I sowed into our family is in direct proportion to what we reap today.  I encourage you to make some time for family devotions.  It’s not always easy getting up a little earlier.  It’s not always easy to spend more time at the supper before running off to activities; however, nothing pays a greater dividend like family devotions.  I have found that when I begin my day praying for my family, I pray for them throughout the day.
